Halifax police responded to a report of an injured person in the area of Sylvia Avenue and Herring Cove Road on May 17th, 2022 at approximately 12:45 a.m.

On arrival police located 37-year-old Chauntel Lizette MacIntyre suffering from stab wounds. MacIntyre was rushed to the hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Update November 6th, 2023
On November 2, at approximately 9:50 a.m. Police arrested a 31-year-old woman at a residence in Halifax and at 7:55 p.m. they arrested a 40-year-old man driving a vehicle in Halifax. The woman was released later in the day without charges.

Kenneth Wayne Clarke, 40, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court today to face one count of first-degree murder.

No arrests have been made at this time and police are asking anyone with information about this incident or video from the area between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
