The 2025 Ontario Homicide Victim List is available here

Niagara Regional Police have identified 50-year-old Davy Rocchetti as the suspect in the homicide of 82-year-old Larry Pearce, who died following a hit-and-run incident at Charles Daley Park, in Lincoln Ontario on July 17, 2025. Police say Pearce was struck while trying to prevent his own vehicle, a 2012 grey Honda CRV, from being stolen.

The vehicle was last seen heading toward the QEW Niagara-bound and remains missing.

Rocchetti is now wanted for second-degree murder, and a Canada-wide warrant is being pursued. He also has existing warrants for unrelated charges including theft, mischief, and driving while prohibited.

Rocchetti was most recently seen on July 22 in Mississauga, driving the stolen CRV, now with duct tape on the front bumper and rear window, and possibly altered licence plates. He is accompanied by a white pitbull-style dog with black and brown markings, including a dark spot over its left eye.

Police urge the public not to approach Rocchetti and to call 911 immediately if spotted. He is believed to be homeless and still evading capture.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at around 8:50 p.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a report of a vehicle on fire near 1875 North Sheridan Way in Mississauga.

With assistance from the Niagara Regional Police Service’s Homicide and Forensic Services units, investigators confirmed that the burned vehicle, a stolen grey Honda CR-V was registered to Mr. Pearce and had previously been linked to wanted individual Davy Rocchetti.

The investigation determined that the vehicle entered a wooded area near Springbank Road around 8:20 p.m. before being deliberately set on fire. Witnesses reported seeing a lone person walking away from the scene shortly afterward.

Rocchetti’s current location is unknown, and a Canada-wide warrant remains in effect for his arrest. While police do not believe he still has the dog that was previously associated with him, this detail remains under review as the case develops.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area of North Sheridan Way, Springbank Road, or Sevenoaks Drive between 8:10 and 8:40 p.m. on July 24 and noticed anything unusual—or who may have surveillance or dashcam footage—to contact investigators.

Update July 29th: With assistance from Peel and Toronto police, Niagara officers have taken 50-year-old Davy Rocchetti into custody in relation to the death of Larry Pearce in Lincoln.

According to investigators, Rocchetti was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and is now facing a charge of second-degree murder.
