RCMP said 26-year-old Brandon Noftall of Renews, Newfoundland and Labrador, was arrested and charged with second degree murder in the death of a 41-year-old man, also of Renews, which occurred on December 17th.

Noftall appeared in St. John’s Provincial Court on December 18th, and was remanded into custody, he is scheduled for a second court appearance on December 23.

Police have not released the identity of the victim, however, according to The Telegram
“A woman who lives in the area, who didn’t want to be named, said the victim was not originally from there. She said the rental house where the incident was said to have happened was occupied by a family who had moved in Wednesday from another part of the province.”
