Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List

Police were called to the report of a shooting at the Galeries Baie-Comeau shopping centre on January 22nd where they located a man who had been shot at least once.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Jérémy Barrette, a local resident, according to the coroner’s office.

Later that evening, officers stopped a suspicious vehicle on Route 138 near Rivière-Pentecôte. Six people were inside five in their twenties and one 47-year-old.

SQ spokesperson Hugues Beaulieu said the individuals are now being questioned by the Major Crimes Unit. All six are expected to appear in court in Baie-Comeau on Friday.
