Alberta RCMP said on March 14, 2024, the remains of Echer Marcial, 34, were found on Range Road 55, near Clairmont. Following an autopsy, the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton has deemed the cause of death to be a homicide.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit took carriage of the investigation, and has charged 37- year-old Grande Prairie, Alta. resident, David James Sietsma, also known as “Toothless,” with the first-degree murder of Marcial.

Sietsma’s whereabouts are currently unknown; although, he is believed to be in the Grande Prairie area.

If you see David Sietsma, do NOT approach him; call your local police immediately.

Update:
Ontario Provincial Police responded to an incident on Highway 17, east of Schreiber, on May 30th. Investigators said they observed a stolen vehicle traveling on Highway 17. Their attempt to stop the vehicle using a spike belt failed. The vehicle was later located in the Sunset Drive area and David James Sietsma, also known as Toothless, was arrested.
