Brantford Police Service were dispatched to a Colborne Street residence after receiving a report of an injured male on September 28, 2024, at approximately 7:40 p.m.

On arrival, police located a male victim who was suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital. Despite the life-saving measures performed, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

As a result, a 37-year-old female resident of Brantford was arrested and charged with one count of second Degree Murder, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held for bail.

Police said the accused and the victim were known to each other. This incident has been classified as an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related homicide.
