The 2024 Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here

The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call for service regarding an unresponsive male in the 800 block of College Avenue On October 18, 2024, at approximately 5:35 p.m.

Attending officers provided emergency medical care before the male was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced deceased in hospital.

The deceased victim has been identified as 33-year-old, Shawn Douglas THOMAS. THOMAS was a member of Peguis First Nation and resided in Winnipeg.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and family notifications have been made.

Update: Winnipeg police arrested Karl Earl SETTEE on November 14th at 12:00 p.m in the area of Higgins Avenue and King Street. He is facing a charge of manslaughter
