RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit located human remains at a property on Hastings Rd on October 8th in Springfield while conducting a missing person investigation.

The remains were identified on November 18th as Barry Albert Mosher, who was reported missing to Lunenburg District RCMP on August 28, 2022. RCMP said in a press release that the missing person and human remains investigations have been merged into a homicide investigation.

Update April 16th 2024
After a lengthy investigation RCMP arrested Derrick Robar, 32, Kris Buttar, 44, and Alan Rankin, 43, who have been charged with First Degree Murder and William Zinck, 25, has been charged with Accessory After the Fact.

All of the accused were held in custody and will be appearing in Annapolis Royal Provincial Court on April 17, at 9:30 a.m.
