Update: Son charged with murder – Toronto Homicide #17 – TPS investigate the homicide of a woman found dismembered in a garbage bag

Toronto police responded to a call in the Eastern Avenue and Berkshire Avenue area, on March 28th at 1:30 pm.

On arrival police located a deceased female body in a plastic bag, with obvious signs of trauma and some dismemberment.

The deceased female is described as having a light complexion, 5’2″, 118 lbs., and short dark shoulder length hair. Police have released images of nailart designs on her finger nails and toe nails, along with the deceased female’s shirt, in hopes of identifying the victim. The clothing has been described as a red coloured, long sleeve Armani Exchange shirt.

Update: Toronto police have identified the victim as Tien Ly, 46, of Toronto. Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the deceased woman’s son, Dallas Ly, 20, of Toronto. Police are concerned for his well being. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police.

Anyone in the area of Berkshire Avenue and Eastern Avenue between 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., who may have seen anyone pushing a foldable shopping cart filled with black waste bags or anyone driving a motor vehicle on the above date and time, with a dash cam is asked to contact the Toronto Police – 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS

Torronto police said the investigation determined Dallas Ly was responsible for the death of his mother Tien Ly.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, Dallas Ly, 20, of Toronto was arrested. He has been charged with:
