The 2023 Montreal Homicide Victim List is available here
Montreal police were called to an apartment on Alexis-Nihon Boulevard, near Côte-de-Liesse Road on October 1st.
On arrival police located two men suffering from stabbing injuries. 23-year-old Liam Angelo Rodriguez was located suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.
A 20-year-old man was also located with injuries. He has been listed in stable condition, and he was arrested in connection with the homicide.
Update: Uriel Pepin Rojas, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on December 19th 2025, in Quebec Superior Court in connection with the 2023 killing of 23-year-old Liam Angelo Rodriguez.
Pepin Rojas had originally been charged with second-degree murder, as well as assaulting his former girlfriend. With the guilty plea entered, the case will now move directly to sentencing, which is expected to take place in January after prosecutors and the defence failed to agree on an appropriate penalty.
According to the Montreal Gazette, the court heard that the fatal incident stemmed from a dispute involving Pepin Rojas’s former girlfriend, who believed their relationship had ended, while he did not. On the day of the incident, Pepin Rojas arrived uninvited at her St-Laurent apartment, where Rodriguez was present. An argument escalated into a violent confrontation between the two men inside the unit.
