Update second man charged – Two Métis men, Jake Sansom, and Morris Cardinal found dead on a rural road near Glendon Alberta

Alberta RCMP is investigating after two men were found shot to death near a vehicle in the area of Township Road 622 and Range Road 484 at approximately 4 a.m. on March 28th.

Bonnyville RCMP said they are treating the deaths as suspicious and have called in the major crimes unit. The victims Jake Sansom, 39, and his uncle Morris Cardinal, 57, died as a result of gunshot wounds.

According to media reports the pair spent March 27th moose hunting and fishing for food after Sansom lost his job due to the COVID-19.

Update April 2
Anthony Michael Bilodeau, 31, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder. Bilodeau was denied bail at his April 1st hearing.

Update June 15th
he RCMP Major Crimes Unit has charged Roger Bilodeau, 56, of Glendon, with two counts of second-degree murder. Bilodeau remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18th.
