15-year-old charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a Moncton teen

Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a shot fired inside a residence on Sands Drive on February 5th at approximately 9:20 p.m.

On arrival police located a 16-year-old youth inside of the residence who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital where he died of his injuries.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., police arrested a 15-year-old youth in connection with the investigation, and he was taken into police custody.

On February 6, the 15-year-old youth appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with manslaughter. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on February 7, 2024.
