Waterloo police are investigating a murder-suicide after a child and his mother die in hospital

Waterloo police and paramedics were called to a residence on Forsyth Drive in Waterloo on July 31st at approximately 9:00am.

Police located two people at the scene in medical distress. A two year old boy and his 38-year-old mother were rushed to hospital where the toddler died from his injuries on August second. The vicitim’s 28-year-old mother died from her injuries on August 3rd.

Police said the child’s death is being investigated as a homicide, and the female is believed to have passed away as a result of self-inflicted injuries. Police are not looking for any other suspects.
