Éric Francis De Souza was fatally shot while sitting in Pizzeria Sofia, located on Leduc Boulevard in the Quartier Dix30 neighbourhood of Brossard on May 10, 2019.

Police said he was hit by at least one bullet and taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said the victim is not known to police.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, running toward Highway 10.

27-year-old Laval man who is already in custody at the Montreal detention centre in connection with firearm possession offences will appear by video conference to face a first-degree murder charge in De Souza’s death.
