Two charged in connection with the Edmonton homicide of Clinton Quintal

Edmonton police responded to a report of an injured male on the sidewalk at 102 Street and Kingsway at 1:39 a.m. on May 15, 2024.

On arrival, they located an unresponsive 34-year-old male with serious injuries. EMS treated and transported him to hospital, where he later died.

EPS said in the days that followed, a suspect, Irvin Badarm, 31, was identified and found to have also committed a robbery at the Kingsway transit station about an hour before the murder. On May 18, 2024, police arrested Badarm and charged him with second degree murder and robbery. Investigators do not believe Badarm knew either the robbery or the homicide victim.

On May 21, 2024, the Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the murder victim, Clinton Quintal, 34, died of multiple stab wounds. The manner of death was confirmed to be homicide.

On Oct. 24, 2024, Adam Chinery, 35, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Chinery did not take part in the robbery.
