Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 500 block of Alexander Avenue for the report of an injured adult male on November 8, at approximately 8:47 p.m.

Police located 23-year-old Jamal Eli Preston MILES, a member of Shamatewa First Nation who resided in Winnipeg suffering from life-threatening stabbing injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

On November 18, 2024, Naustin William BEARDY, 21, of Winnipeg was arrested at the Winnipeg Remand Centre, where he is currently being lodged for an unrelated matter.

BEARDY been charged with Second Degree Murder.
