Toronto police responded to a stabbing in the Weston Road and Dennis Avenue area on December 31st at approximately 10:56am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Elsabet Yitayew, 37, of Toronto suffering from stab wounds. Police said the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Temeka Dorsett, 32, of Toronto, was arrested at the scene and charged with First Degree Murder. Police have not release if the victim and accured were known to each other. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7400, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
