On March 8, 2019, at 12:20 a.m., Toronto Police responded to a report of a shooting in the Avenue Road and Eglinton Avenue West area, at a Petro Canada Gas Station.

Police said as Nashwan Yonan, 32, pulled up to the pump in his Jeep, a masked assailant fired numerous rounds at him. Yonan was hit several times and was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on March 22nd.
