In the early morning of April 4, 2025, around 4:50 a.m., multiple 911 calls reported a violent altercation involving several individuals on Atwater Avenue near de Maisonneuve Boulevard West.
According to Montreal police, the incident stemmed from a dispute with a woman, after which 58-year-old Glenn Griffith was allegedly attacked and severely beaten by a group of people.
The suspects fled the scene before emergency responders arrived. By the time the man was transported to the hospital, he was unconscious and, despite medical efforts, died from his injuries on April 20. What was initially investigated as an aggravated assault was later reclassified as a homicide and handed over to the Major Crimes Unit.
The five people charged with second-degree murder are Levina Arnaituq, 28; Eian Gordon, 48; Penina Koneak, 24; Jonathan Langlois Quirion, 35; and Hélène Sénécal, 36.
