The Waterloo Regional Police Service is actively investigating a suspicious death that occurred in North Dumfries Township.

Waterloo Region Police said 36-year-old Elizabeth Spurgeon of Cambridge was found dead near the intersection of West River Road and Brant-Waterloo Road in the early hours of September 12, 2025, .

Police have since determined her death to be a homicide.

Investigators are asking the public for any details about Ms. Spurgeon’s movements or activities in the days leading up to the morning of September 12.
