Man found dead in Viger Square

Montreal patrolling police officers noticed an unresponsive man in Viger Square, located on Berri St. and Viger Ave on October 30th at approximately 9:00am.

Police said the victim’s body showed signs of violence, he was bleeding and on the ground. Despite life saving efforts the man was pronounced dead on-scene.

No other information is available at this time.

10 Biggest Canadian City Homicide Count, Homicide Rate Per 100,000 And Full Year 2018 Projections: Updated October 7th, 2018

Toronto still leads with the highest homicide rate per capita of the ten major cities, Winnipeg is second, with the City of Vancouver, Edmonton, and Brampton tied for third.

Toronto and Brampton projected homicides are up considerably over the 2017 totals.

Raymond Henry Muller charged with the gruesome death of Cedric Gagnon

A Montreal street musician, Raymond Henry Muller, 51, has been  accused of killing his roommate, Cedric Gagnon, 39.   The victim performed with Muller in a Montreal band called Pirates.

It is alleged that Muller killed and dismembered Gagnon in early July and disposed of his body parts. The remains on Gagnon have not been found. Police believe they were disposed in boxes and bags, and taken by the garbage truck.

Muller was charged on September 3rd with first degree murder and committing an indignity to a corpse.

Man found dead in a Côte-des-Neiges apartment

Montreal police responded to a Côte-des-Neiges apartment on Tuesday August 28th at approximately 6:00pm on report of a dead body.

Police said the landlord of the building discovered the victim. Police believe the victim is around 35-years-old, however the victim has yet to be identified. “The victim’s body has numerous signs of violence on it,” said Montreal police spokesperson Manuel Couture.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Guy Therrin was out on full parole when he was fatally shot in Montreal

Montreal police responded to report of a shooting on August 23rd at approximately 8:25pm that took place in a Lafrenaie St. warehouse.

Police arrived to find a 21-year-old man suffering from upper body injuries and 53-year-old Guy Therrien, who was pronounced at the scene. The 21-year-old is in stable condition.

Police arrested a 44-year-old male suspect in Napierville on August 24th. He is being questioned by homicide detectives.

Both victims are known to police. Therrien was serving parole for a 70-month sentence he received in 2014 after he pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine for the purposes of trafficking.

30 year old Christidist William dies in Montreal Stabbing

Montreal police and paramedics were called to the corner of St-Hubert St. and de Maisonneuve Blvd., near Place Émilie-Gamelin on August 9th at approximately 2:40am on report of a stabbing.

Witnesses said an altercation between Christidist William, 30, and Gregory Mauricin, 40,  escalated and resulted in the stabbing. The victim, who was known to police was rushed to hospital where he died of a stab wound to the upper body.

Gregory Mauricin has been charged with the murder of William.

4 People arrested in fatal stabbing near Montreal’s Chinatown

Montreal police were called to the area of St-Laurent Boulevard and Viger Avenue, near Montreal’s Chinatown, at approximately 3:50am on July 21st.

Police arrived to find two victims, in their 20’s that had been stabbed. Both were rushed to hospital where the one victim died of his injuries.

Police said a 28-year-old man, a 26-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman were arrested. No other information has been released at this time.
