Stepmother of the 7-year-old Granby girl who died in April, charged with second-degree-murder.

Police said a 7-year-old girl spent her last 24 hours in a Granby hospital on April 29th, 2019, after she was found by authorities in poor condition, while under the care of her father and stepmother.

The victim died in hospital on April 30th from her injuries. The identity of the victim will not be released, nor will cause of death.

The stepmother had previously been charged with unlawful confinement and aggravated assault, and on June 21st, 2019 her charge was upgraded to second-degree murder.

The girl’s father has been charged with unlawful confinement, failing to provide the necessities of life and child abandonment, and criminal negligence causing death.
