Riverton Manitoba Man Richard Lea Charged With Murder Following Discovery of Darryl Lambert’s Remains

Gimli RCMP officers, with support from RCMP Major Crime Services, Forensic Identification Services, and the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a property in Riverton as part of an ongoing investigation on May 12, 2026.

During the search, investigators located a body inside a vehicle on the property. A 41-year-old man from Riverton was arrested at the scene without incident.

Following an autopsy and forensic examination, authorities confirmed the remains belonged to 39-year-old Darryl Lambert, who had been reported missing to the Gimli RCMP Detachment on March 17, 2026.

Richard Lea, 41, has been charged with second-degree murder and has been remanded into custody as the investigation continues.
