Update: Kelsey Marie Dawn Clair charged – RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is investigating the homicide of a woman in Saint-Ignace, N.B.

Richibucto RCMP responded to a home on Saint-Ignace Road on a report of an unresponsive woman on March 8th at approximately 6:30am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 39-year-old woman suffering from undisclosed injuries. The victim was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police have not revealed the cause of death, or the victim’s identity, only saying her death was a homicide.

Update March 11th
An autopsy was performed and police have identified the victim as 39-year-old Erika Ann Vautour, of Saint-Ignace. Police are releasing the victim’s name to help further the investigation. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity on Saint Ignace Road between the evening of Saturday, March 7 and the morning of Sunday, March 8, is asked to contact the Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267).

Update December 21st
RCMP said 29-year-old Kelsey Marie Dawn Clair of Elsipogtog has been arrested and charged with manslaughter at Miramichi court via tele-remand on December 19th.
