Melfort RCMP responded to the report of a shooting involving multiple victims on the James Smith First Nation on September 5th.
An adult male and an adult female were declared deceased as a result of the shooting. A second male suspect was rushed to hospital to be treated for undetermined injuries. The families of the deceased have been notified, however, the names of the deceased will not be released by RCMP.
Investigators are searching for Shawn Moostoos, and believe he may be armed and should not be approached. Moostoos is a 33-year-old male and is described as having brown eyes, brown hair, just over 6 feet tall, weighing 189 pounds. Police said he may be driving a 2003, white Pontiac Montana, with Saskatchewan license plate 938 MBT. RCMP said the victims and accused were known to each other.

RCMP investigators located Shawn Moostoos at about 4:00 p.m. at a residence in Melfort, SK on September 6th.
