Suspect in Trail BC Homicide released without charges

Police and paramedics were called to a gas station on Victoria Street in Trail BC on June 30th on the report of an unconscious man at approximately 10:00pm.

The 39-year-old Cam Cunningham was rushed to hospital where he died from his injuries. According to reports the victim and the suspect who he knew, were involved in an altercation at a church where the man was injured. The suspect fled the area on foot.

The 33-year old suspect was later arrested on July 1st but has been released from custody without charges. Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said “We want to reaffirm that we believe that homicide was an isolated incident between two people, who were known to each other, and that this individual does not pose an ongoing risk to the general public.”
