Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a report of a deceased 34-year-old man in a home on January 3 at approximately 10:00pm.

The man was declared deceased at the scene. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the homicide investigation. More information will be added as it becomes available.

Update January 29th
Ryan Jake Applegarth is wanted in connection to the homicide of the 34-year-old man. RCMP believe he could be in the Wetaskiwin, Maskwacis or Edmonton areas. Applegarth is described as: Indigenous, 5’11” tall / 181 lbs, Black hair / brown eyes, Wears glasses,
