Ottawa police responded to report of a stabbing in the 200 block of Murray Street on October 31st at around 10:25pm.
Police located the male victim suffering from serious injuries consistent with a stabbing. The victim who has been identified as Austin Simon, 39, of Ottawa, was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Major Crime Unit at 613-236-1222, ext.5493.

Ignace Kayiranga, 33, of Ottawa has been charged with second degree murder in regards to the stabbing death of Austin Simon.
Update November 11
A Canada Wide Warrant for the arrest of Brandon Longo, 24, of Ottawa. LONGO is charged with Manslaughter in the October 31st murder of Austin Simon on Murray Street. Anyone with information regarding the current whereabouts of Longo is asked to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.

The Major Crime Unit has advised the public that Brandon Longo has turned himself in.
