On arrival police located Carl Reinboth, 64 years old of Ottawa, suffering from stabbing injuries. Reinboth was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. according to reports Reinboth was a harm reduction worker at the nearby Somerset West Community Health Centre.

A few hours later police received another report of a stabbing nearby in the 600 block of Somerset Street West, by the same suspect. The second victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Police said a male suspect was arrested and remains in custody and charges are pending.
