Update: Ottawa police investigate a double homicide of two brothers in the city’s Alta Vista neighbourhood.

Ottawa police responded to the report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Alta Vista Drive, near Dorion Avenue, at 6:40pm on May 28th.

Police arrived to find one man injured in a Range Rover, and the other on the ground. Two men were pronounced at the scene and a third man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

According to cbc.ca the victims are brothers Abdulaziz Abdullah, 34, and Mohamad Abdullah, 27, and the third brother Fawaz Abdullah, who was shot in the leg but expected to survive. Two of the brothers were known to police for gang-related violence.

Police are seeking suspects in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext 5493.

Update May 30th
Canada wide warrants have been issued for the arrest of three individuals in relation to a double homicide on Alta Vista Dr. on May 28th. Ahmed SIYAD, 28, of Toronto, Mohamed SHIRE, 31, of Toronto, and Abdullahi OSMAN, 29, of Ottawa are all wanted for first degree murder in the shootings of brothers Abdulaziz Abdullah and Mohamed Abdullah and for the attempted murder of a third man. Update February 13th 2022
Ottawa Police Homicide Unit have located and arrested Abdullahi OSMAN, in relation to the May 28th, 2021 homicide of Abdulaziz Abdullah and Mohamed Abdullah.

OSMAN was arrested in Peel, and has been charged with first degree murder.

Update February 28th
Yusuf HUSSEIN, age 21, of Ottawa turned himself in to police on February 28. He is facing charges of Accessory after the Fact to Murder, Transfer of an Identity Document and Procuring a Passport by False Statement.

Ahmed SIYAD, 28, and Mohamed SHIRE, 31, both from Toronto are still wanted on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
