Update: Ottawa man dies in early morning stabbing

Ottawa police are investigating their first homicide of 2017, after receving a medical call at around 5:30 am February 2nd.

Police arrived at the scene, a home at the 1100 block of Joseph Cyr Street to find a 24 year old man suffering from a life threatening stab wound.

The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The victim’s name will be released after his next of kin is notified.

Update February 3

The victim has been identified as Brian Boucher, 24. Boucher had been stabbed in the neck, and was sent to hospital for emergency surgery where he died from his injuries.

Police have issued a Canada wide warrant for the arrest of Awale Hussein 23 has been issued. Hussein is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of his friend Brian Boucher.

Update February 8th
Awale Hussein turned himself in to police on Wednesday. He is scheduled to appear in court on February 9, 2017
