OPP identify Ramara homicide victim as Wendy Lahay

Orillia Ontario Provincial Police, the Rama First Nation Police Service and Simcoe County Paramedic Services responded a medical emergency at a home on Monck Road in the Township of Ramara on February 13th. at approximately 11:30pm.

Police located two injured victims on arrival. 47-year old Wendy Lahay was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the second victim, an adult male, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Michael Lahay, 30, of Ramara, was arrested at the scene and charged with one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempted Murder. Police have not released the cause of death, or the relationship between the victim and the accused.
