The Thunder Bay 2022 Homicide Victim List is available here
Thunder Bay police responded to the report of a shooting in the 200-block area of Pearl Street just after 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 15.
On arrival police located 41-year-old James CHAPAIS, of Thunder Bay, suffering from gunshot injuries. He was rushed to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he died of his injuries.
Thunder Bay Police Service has arrested:
- Jamie OSMAR (1977/11/03) of Thunder Bay for First-Degree Murder, and Breach of Recognizance
Police continue to search for two additional suspects.
Suspect 1 is believed to be a white male, slim build, long dark unkempt hair, dark pants, light-colored hoodie, black hat on backwards.
Suspect 2 is believed to be male, slim build, light-colored jacket, grey pants, white toque, light-colored face mask
The suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous. If encountered do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
Update May 26
Thunder Bay police announced that they arrested James Howard HALVERSON (1972/09/24), of Thunder Bay for: First-Degree Murder, Breach of Undertaking 0on May 19th.
A third suspect remains at large.
Update August 30th
Investigators have arrested and charged another suspect in relation to the homicide
Aquille Kadeem MALCOLM, 24, of Toronto, is charged with:
• First-Degree Murder
• Attempt to Commit Murder Using Firearm x 2
He is expected to appear in bail court in Thunder Bay today (Tuesday, Aug. 30).
