The RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Sunset Street, St. John’s on April 2nd at approximately 10:40pm.

Police arrived and located a 20-year-old Brandon James Leftault suffering from serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police said “at this stage we are unable to confirm as to whether this was a random or targeted incident.”

Update March 17th 2021
The RNC’s criminal investigation division major case management team made three arrests on Tuesday March 16th, 2021. Two men, one 19 the other 18, are facing manslaughter and robbery charges, and the third accused, an 18-year-old man is facing charges of manslaughter, robbery and public mischief.
