Montreal police responded to a 911 report of a shooting at a residential building near Jean-Talon and Michelet St, on September 7th at approximately 7:30pm.

Police located 63-year-old Piero Arena deceased in the parking garage of the condo. Arena was know to police for importation of cocaine. 

According to Journal Du Montreal Piero Arena “was also considered close to the Cotroni clan, this famous Calabrian family who reigned supreme over organized crime until the end of the 1980s before being dethroned by the Rizutto.” They also noted that Arena was the person targeted in the July 22 shooting that took place in broad daylight at Café Sorrento.

No arrests have been made at this time. Information will be added as it becomes available.
