Peel Police were called to a home located near Goreway and Morningstar drives at approximately 6:40 a.m on April 16th, according to Const. Heather Cannon.
On arrival, a man was located suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Mustafa Omar, 29, of Toronto, also known as rapper Sizzlac.
According to reports Omar was charged in 2009 in a fatal double shooting at a house party on Chinguacousy Road in Brampton in 2009. with two counts of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Terrence Elliott “T-bone” Hughes, 40, and Garth Nicholas Palmer, 29, both Toronto residents. However, Omar was never convicted of the charges. One of the murder charges was discharged by a judge in September 2010, the other was withdrawn by the Crown in October 2011. Omar pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in relation to the incident and was sentenced to two years less a day in a provincial jail.
Cannon said the service’s missing persons bureau has also been called in to investigate. It is unclear where the 911 call originated or if the victim was a resident of the home in which he was found, she said.
