Jeremy Ryan Cook fatally shot over cellphone

London police say Jeremy Ryan Cook, 18, left his cellphone in a London taxi and electronically traced it to a parking lot early June 14th. Cook and a relative went to the parking lot around 5:15 a.m. and approached sedan with three men inside. A discussion about the phone followed and the car started to drive away.

Police said Cook held onto the driver’s side door as it drove behind a plaza, where shots were fired.

Cook was found behind the plaza by police responding to the report of gunshots. He suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Investigators say an arrest warrant, charging Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, 23, of Calgary, Alta. with second degree murder was applied for.

Muhab Sultanaly Sultan’s body was recovered from the Rideau River in Ottawa last week. Sultan was a suspect wanted in a shooting death over a stolen cellphone.

Mohamed Ibrahim Sail, is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of 18-year-old Jeremy Cook. Police said that Sail turned himself in shortly before 8 p.m. July 10th in London, ON.
