West Vancouver Police responded to a welfare check after receiving a 911 call from the Ambleside District in the morning of December 13th.

On arrival police located a deceased female in an apartment, and the initial investigation resulted in the arrest of a person present at the scene. 

“We want to assure the public that there is no ongoing risk to their safety”, said WVPD spokesperson Sgt. Chris Bigland. “At this time, the investigation is in the evidence gathering phase and it is believed to be an isolated incident. We urge anyone with information or that was in the area of the 1400 block of Esquimalt Avenue around 1:00 AM to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-4448 and ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca”.

IHIT has taken conduct of the investigation and are working closely with members of the West Vancouver Police Department.
