IHIT investigates the fatal shooting of a man in Maple Ridge

Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 22200-block of 123 Avenue, in Maple Ridge on January 20th at 2:40 p.m.

Police located an 18-year old man suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene of a collision. On January 25, 2024, the victim of the shooting, who remained in hospital, died to his injuries. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been assigned to the investigation and will continue to work closely in partnership with the Ridge Meadows RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

“If you were in the area of 222 Street and 123 Avenue or the north side of Westview Secondary School, at 209 Street and 123 Avenue on January 20 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., please contact IHIT immediately,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “This is a tragic situation where a young man’s life was taken from him. We’re asking for witnesses to come forward.
