Hamilton Police were called to Peddles Tavern at 1490 Barton St E, on the report of a stabbing on December 15, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m.
On arrival police located an injured male who has been identified as Shah Ghafoori, 34. Ghafooriwas taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Pierce Herod, 28, of St. Catharines, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with 2nd degree murder.
At this time, it appears the victim and suspect were not known to each other and the attack was unprovoked.
