Montreal police responded to the report of an altercation in the area of Aylmer Street near Milton Street in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough on October 19th at approximately 4:30pm.

Police arrived to find a 24-year-old woman who was suffering from several stab wounds. She was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. The victim’s identity has not been released. Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the SPVM said the victim and the accused were former roommates.

Police arrested François Pelletier, and charged him with first degree murder.

Update the female victim has been identified as Romane Bonnier.
