Four men charged in connection to the homicide of Yuvraj Goyal in Surrey BC

Surrey RCMP received a call of a shooting in a the 900-block of 164 Street, Surrey, BC on June 7th at approximately 8:46am.

On arrival police located Yuvraj Goyal, 28, of Surrey, deceased. Shortly after police were advised of a vehicle fire in the 18500-block of McMillan Road, Surrey. As a result of the quick coordinated response of Surrey RCMP, Air 1 and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT), four suspects were identified and taken into custody.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and have been working closely in partnership with the Surrey RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Service and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of BC (CFSEU-BC) in a collaborative effort to advance the investigation.

IHIT said initial evidence suggests this was a targeted shooting, investigators are working to determine the reason that Mr. Goyal, a 28-year old community member with no history of police contact, was killed.

On June 8, 2024, 23-year old Manvir Basram of Surrey, 20-year old Sahib Basra of Surrey, 23-year old Harkirat Jhutty of Surrey, and 20-year old Keilon Francois of Ontario, were charged with first degree murder, in relation to the shooting of Goyal.
