Fillmore RCMP investigating a homicide after receiving a silent 911 call

On March 31st Fillmore RCMP were alerted of a silent 911 call placed in the afternoon. Police officers tracked the origin of the call and went to a rural residence in Fillmore, SK.

Police arrived to find an 18-year-old man wandering around the farm. Upon further investigation police located the body of a 69-year-old man a short distance from the home.

Police arrested the teen, who is the grandson of the deceased and charged him with first-degree murder and indignity to human remains. The accused will appear in court on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. at the Provincial Court in Estevan by phone.
