Peel police were called to a Motel 6 at around 10:30 pm on February 20th on report of gunshots. Police arrives at the Steelwell Rd scene to find a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wound.

The victim who has been identified by police will not have his name released until his next of kin is located. Police believe the shooting to be an isolated indecent.

Update February 20th
The victim had been identified as Jahsavior Reid 19 of Toronto. The death of Reid is the first Peel death of 2017.

Update May 8
Chief Jennifer Evans announced that a 24 year old Travis Babbington had been taken into custody on May 8th in connection to the death of Jahsavior Reid.  Babbington has been charged with first degree murder.
