Edmonton police said Khalid Abdirizak, 29, was dropped off at the Royal Alexandra Hospital suffering from injuries consistent with a shooting on July 18, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Despite life-saving efforts, Abdirizak succumbed to his injuries a short time later. An autopsy was completed on Friday, July 19, 2024 and the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that the cause was a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.

Investigators said the shooting took place at an underground and unlicensed nightclub that was operating under the name “One Love Club” or “Vibe Place Nightclub” located at 10657 116 Street.
