Edmonton Police and paramedic were called to the report of a shooting in the area of 23 Avenue and 106 Street on September 23rd at approximately 9:00pm.

The two injured men were located and rushed to hospital where  Samaan Wani, 25, died of his injuries. The second man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe that a black truck, possibly a Dodge Ram, that was in the area at the time may be linked to the shooting. No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with dash cam footage who was driving in the area of 23 Avenue between Calgary Trail and 111 Street from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, is asked to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.
