At approximately 4:26 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, officers from the EPS Downtown Branch responded to reports of gunfire near 119 Street and Jasper Avenue.

When they arrived, they found a woman deceased inside an SUV.

On Monday, September 1, 2025, the Edmonton Medical Examiner confirmed the victim as 39-year-old Priscilla McGreer. An autopsy revealed she died from gunshot wounds, and her death has been ruled a homicide.

EPS Homicide Section investigators have arrested and charged Kyle Laumen, 42, of Edmonton with first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and breach of probation. Police confirmed that McGreer and Laumen knew each other.
