Update police treating the deaths as murder-suicide – Edmonton Homicide Section is investigating the suspicious death of a woman

Edmonton police responded to the report of a deceased woman at a residence in the area of Mullen Road and Mullen Place on July 11th at approximately 5:00am. Police asked for the public’s assistance in locating a white 2019 Toyota Tacoma that was believed to be connected to the death of the woman.

Sicamous RCMP located the white 2019 Toyota Tacoma later in the evening on July 11th and a 39-year-old male suspect, who is believed to have been operating the Toyota Tacoma, was located deceased a short distance away.

Homicide Section is not looking for any additional suspects at this time.

Update July 16th
An autopsy was performed and revealed Teresa Dejesus Esquivel-Robles, was determined she died as a result of stab wounds. The manner of death is deemed a homicide. Police said they do not believe criminality was involved in the death of 39-year-old Luis Antonio Candela-Gonzalez. The case is being treated as a murder-suicide.
