Douglas Yetman arrested, Darryl Little and Peter Campbell Charged With Murder in St. John’s Homicide

On December 21, The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a residence on Empire Avenue in St. John’s, where officers discovered a deceased man inside the home. In consultation with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police confirmed the death was the result of a homicide. At this time, the victim has not been publicly identified.

Following the investigation, the RNC Major Crime Unit has arrested and charged two men in connection with the killing. Forty-two-year-old Darryl Little and 28-year-old Peter Campbell are both facing murder charges and are being held in custody pending court appearances.

Campbell was taken into custody on the night of December 22 at around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Rotary Drive. In addition to a murder charge, Campbell faces multiple firearms-related offences, including disguise with intent and several breaches of court orders and a firearm prohibition.

Little was arrested shortly after midnight on December 23 at a residence on Druken Crescent. He has been charged with murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and breaching a court order.

As the investigation continues, police have obtained an arrest warrant for 47-year-old Douglas Yetman of St. John’s. He is wanted on numerous charges, including murder, multiple firearms offences, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose, and breaches of court and firearm prohibition orders.

Update: On Dec. 23 at approximately 7 p.m., information was received that Yetman was in the area of James Place. RNC OPS, the RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit and the RCMP Emergency Response Team responded where Yetman was taken into police custody without incident. Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing.
