Toronto police responded to a stabbing in the area of Joe Shuster Way and King St W on December 26th at approximately 7:47pm.

On arrival police located a man suffering from a stab wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Marcel Cardiff, 32, of Toronto.

Through investigation, the suspect was identified and on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Matthew Brown, 37, of Toronto was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.
